A life philosophy of “aligning people’s skills and talents at work, fortifies many” including the employer’s business, employee job satisfaction, home life and society.  This philosophy provided numerous accomplishments in her professional and personal development.  Shirley credits her creative style to being born in her parent’s car.

Shirley’s continuous learning-view point has earned her success throughout her professional life.  In the insurance industry she spanned assignments in Human Resources payroll and interviewing, IT business analysis, and Project management.  This developed expertise in assessing situations, building, and maintaining a customized project planning system for assuring project progress and supervision, and liaison between customers and IT employees.

As she moved on to become the first Account Manager for a national information technology consulting company, Shirley was introduced to professional training where she found she possesses strong skills and talent.

She developed an onboarding program, customized workshops, and experiential learning activities to enhance professional development and work expectations; and developed an Employee Knowledgebase to maintain awareness of strengths and gaps as a whole business.

Shirley is a graduate of Kennedy-Western University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She is a certified trainer of The 5 Behaviors of a Cohesive Team, Playing Your Bigger Game, Everything DiSC® Personality and Communication, and Everything DiSC® Productive Conflict. Shirley is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Illinois.

Active in her community and profession, Shirley is a member of the American Training and Development Association (ATD); the Director of Marketing and Communication for ATD Heart of Central IL Chapter (HCI); and a member of Leadership Illinois.

Brenda Fleming, Virtual Executive Assistant with Elite Administrative Solutions

Brenda defines her success as watching executives, entrepreneurs, and small business owners excel and be recognized for their accomplishments.  Brenda feels a win when her clients feel confident their administrative tasks are being handled behind the scenes allowing them to focus on making the decisions that drive their business.

After working for more than 25 years for executive and senior level management in Fortune 500 companies, Brenda founded Elite Administrative Solutions in 2013.  As a virtual executive assistant, she strives to bring the same high level of skills to small business owners, entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations needing an Executive Assistant in a part-time capacity.

Brenda enjoys the challenges of her position.  One day she is overseeing a large event and the next behind a computer learning new software.  Exceeding the needs of the client brings her great satisfaction.

Community involvement is important to Brenda.  Since the inception in 2010, she has served as Operations Chair for Come Together, Let’s Walk.  She served on the Komen Decatur Race for the Cure committee for numerous years, and has been a volunteer for Special Olympics, American Heart Association, Macon County MDA Lockup, and United Way.

Brenda is a Leadership Illinois Class of 2015 graduate.

Ruth G. Stauffer, Owner of RGStauffer Consulting 

Ruth continues to work with startup organizations and existing small businesses as a consultant.  Her vast experience in business development, technical sales, and hospitality provides an extensive knowledge for growth and expansion.  Grant writing, business plan development, and marketing are her focus with current clients.

Being retired from an economic development organization serving as Executive Director, Ruth attempts to “direct” her three grandsons enjoying time together much of the week.  She assists Learning Alliances in organizing Microsoft 365 SharePoint, OneNote files and processes two days per week.  At   Ruth enjoys the variety of assignments and projects; understanding and performing what is needed by the business owner, Shirley.
